Paulo Coelho mentioned in The Alchemist that to realise one's destiny, is a person's only obligation in life. In spite of having unconditionally supportive parents, I found myself pursuing business consulting at Hewlett Packard in New Zealand only because it seemed like the right thing to do. However, when I started to reflect on all my work experience and more importantly, the experiences at work that felt least like ‘work’; I discovered that my life had been directing me towards the field of education all along. This was my moment of epiphany, and the story behind how Catapult-Ed was born.

Without an insight into what inspires an artist or how a lawyer prepares for a court case; the two distinct professions are only two simple six letter words. Understanding the complexities behind these two is what defines them – a vast but crucial gap between perception and reality. This vacuum in the current education system was something that I could no longer ignore .

It has become my passion and obligation, to give my students a valuable sneak peek into the realness of careers and thus literally, catapult them towards realising their own destinies…
